Abstract

The term “masculinity” describes” the social roles, relationships, and behaviors of men in a particular society as well as the meanings attached to them. The study aimed to explore the ways in which masculinity and religious perspective is represented in dramas. Furthermore, does the portrayal of masculinity and religious perspective support the prevailing standards of masculinity and religious perspective? In this study, the researcher employed a qualitative research approach. Because there is already a gap in literature regarding the examination of masculinity representation and religious perspective. The findings indicated the gender, social norms, and rules were the main factors used to construct masculinity. The least popular way to symbolize religion and masculinity. According to the findings, there has been a noticeable decline in the construction of masculinity through religion and social norms, a slight decline in the construction of masculinity through gender, and a consistent trend in the representation of masculinity through societal norms and values. The findings also demonstrated that society’s ideas of religion and masculinity are reinforced.
