Building Information Modelling (BIM) has revolutionized construction practices worldwide by enhancing efficiency, coordination, and decision-making across project stakeholders. However, its implementation in Pakistan’s construction industry remains limited due to several persistent challenges. This study aims to identify the key barriers hindering BIM adoption and to propose practical measures to facilitate its successful implementation within the local context. A comprehensive literature review was conducted to explore global and regional challenges, followed by a frequency-based analysis that identified eight critical issues specific to Pakistan. To develop actionable solutions, qualitative data were gathered through semi-structured interviews with BIM professionals actively engaged in the country’s construction projects. The insights obtained were used to formulate practical guidelines aimed at mitigating the identified barriers. The findings offer valuable direction for construction professionals seeking to implement BIM effectively, with the ultimate goal of improving project delivery, minimizing delays, and controlling costs. This study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on BIM in developing countries and serves as a forward step toward its broader adoption in Pakistan.
