Mindfulness plays a crucial role in enhancing self-awareness, emotional regulation, and overall psychological resilience. This study examines the relationship between mindfulness and psychological empowerment, exploring how present-moment awareness influences an individual's sense of autonomy, competence, and meaningful engagement in personal and professional settings. The correlation analysis revealed no significant relationship between mindfulness and psychological empowerment. The Pearson correlation coefficient was -0.021 (p = .801), indicating a negligible association. Similar results were observed across gender groups, with females showing a correlation of -0.105 (p = .397) and males displaying .048 (p = .669). These findings suggest that mindfulness does not strongly influence psychological empowerment, highlighting the need for further exploration of other contributing factors.
Mindfulness, defined as a conscious awareness of the present moment with an attitude of openness and acceptance, has been linked to various psychological benefits, including increased self-efficacy and autonomy (Brown & Ryan, 2003). Psychological empowerment, characterized by a sense of meaning, competence, self- determination, and impact (Spreitzer, 1995), plays a crucial role in enhancing personal and professional effectiveness. This study explores the relationship between mindfulness and psychological empowerment, examining how mindfulness fosters individuals' sense of control and intrinsic motivation. Using a quantitative methodology, data were collected through standardized surveys from a diverse sample to investigate the correlation between these constructs. Findings indicate that individuals with higher mindfulness levels demonstrate greater psychological empowerment, reinforcing the notion that mindfulness practices enhance personal agency and meaningful engagement. These results suggest that mindfulness interventions can be incorporated into organizational and educational frameworks to improve individual empowerment and well-being. Future research should examine longitudinal effects and potential mediating factors contributing to this relationship.
