Abstract

This research paper explores the complexities of US-China trade relations amidst rising geopolitical tensions, focusing on China's strategic responses. Using a combination of exploratory and descriptive research methodologies, the study investigates how once-cooperative economic ties have transformed into a conflict marked by tariffs, sanctions, and regulations, disrupting international supply chains and market stability. The findings suggest that China’s strategic initiatives, such as the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and "Made in China 2025," are central to expanding global influence while mitigating external pressures. Case studies, including the South China Sea disputes, reveal the geopolitical implications of China's assertive foreign policy and its impact on international alliances and regional stability. The study recommends fostering international cooperation and constructive dialogue to manage tensions and promote global economic stability in an evolving geopolitical landscape.
