Kashmir the stunning valley has suffered politically and economically since the Indian Subcontinent split into two halves as a result of India and Pakistan's ongoing power struggle. Due to the ongoing territorial disputes, this area is unable to become a province or achieve complete political autonomy. From the beginning, the political elite in Pakistan maintained their hold on power by meddling in the political system and overthrowing the established government whenever they pleased. The opulent policies and regal lifestyles of the political elites compelled the common people to band together in order to secure their rights. Furthermore, the politicization of the water sharing issue stems from the fact that the residents of AJK view Pakistan's water use as an exploitation of their resources. The qualitative style of this article is derived from secondary sources. The primary goals of this paper are to shed light on the key causes of AJK's recent instability and weak economic growth.
